Overview

Find loading: bridging search to the interactive map

This lightweight screen runs while coordinates and display preferences are prepared from your Find Map submission. You may see a short style chooser when the flow needs an explicit basemap before hand-off to Map search.

  • Geocoding and token checks happen here so the heavy map bundle opens on a known center.
  • Error states link back to Find or Map search with plain-language guidance.
  • Advertisement slots follow the same labeling rules as other marketing pages.
  • No account is required; nothing on this step is stored beyond normal server logs.

Why a loading step

What happens while the spinner runs

Three short explanations visitors often look for.

Network handshakes

Map providers and geocoders are contacted over HTTPS; brief latency is normal on cellular links.

Style selection

When offered, picking satellite, street or dark sets the default style Map search opens with.

Soft failures

If a place cannot be resolved, you will stay on this shell with retry links instead of a broken map.

Why am I not on the map yet?
This step prepares geocoding results and map resources before the heavier interactive map loads, so the map can open centered correctly.
What is the style chooser for?
When shown, it sets the default basemap (satellite/streets/dark) before handing off to the interactive map. You can still switch styles later.
The spinner never finishes—what should I do?
Check your connection, temporarily disable aggressive blockers for this domain, and try again. If it persists, retry in another browser.
Do you store my search query?
Queries are processed as normal web requests. See the Privacy Policy for data and retention wording.
Can I skip this step entirely?
Not always. It ensures the interactive map opens with known coordinates and avoids broken states when a place cannot be resolved.
Find loading

Almost there—the map opens next.
